Supermicro SC847 120mm / 140mm Fan Wall Adapters

These are drop-in replacements for the stock 80mm fan wall. It uses the same mounting points and screws as the original. They have the same footprint as the original. The 120mm version reuses the stock rubber gaskets.

Assembly Instructions

120mm version

  • Press fit the three sections together
  • Install fans - three rear mounted and two optionally front mounted
  • Slide original rubber gaskets into bottom of main assembly
  • Screw assembly into chassis (you will need to remove the power supply cage for this)

140mm version

  • Place all three sections on a flat surface
  • Insert dog-bone connectors into the 4 slots - these will be a tight fit and are 1-way, they are not removeable
  • Install fans - three rear mounted and two optionally front mounted
  • (Note - the original rubber gaskets will not fit in the 140mm version)
  • Screw assembly into chassis (you will need to remove the power supply cage for this)

Self-print instructions

Print with a high temperature material. Do not use PLA.

Depending on the accuracy of your printer, you may need to ream or tap the case-side holes as appropriate. They are designed to be self-tapped by screwing directly into the holes. As such they are slightly undersized.

Do not overtighten these two screws, they will strip easily.

Print flat face down.

The 120mm version needs supports enabled from build plate only for the male connectors.

The 140mm version does not require supports.
